The Human Resource Department of the Town of Barrington is responsible for all aspects of Personnel Management. Our goal is to provide excellent service to our diverse municipal workforce, departments and the general public. We accomplish this by providing managers with employment services, consultative advice, policy and procedural guidelines, and employee motivation and development tools. Public Works Department
Sewer Operator Laborer
The Barrington Public Works department has an opening for a full time, safety minded Laborer/Wastewater treatment worker (first shift). Incumbent performs a variety of general duties in regards to the daily operations of the Town. Duties include: a variety of tasks and operations in wastewater treatment, plowing, landscape, maintenance, carpentry, field maintenance, etc.
Prior experience in a similar capacity preferred.
Candidates must be mechanically inclined and be familiar with such equipment.
Must have a current CDL and good driving record,
Must pass a physical and drug test.
Must be flexible to work during storms or emergencies.
Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
Must obtain a wastewater certification within 18 months of employment.
Salary $44,367 to start, $45,845 upon successful completion of probation.
