Town Manager's Memo - Fall/Winter 2009

Hello and welcome!

The town website has a new look. Last summer we asked the citizens of Barrington (and the viewing world) to fill out a short survey asking what they wanted in their website. We received quite a few replies with some very good suggestions. One, we needed the navigation made faster and easier to find specific items. Some people asked for a search engine. Some people wanted the full year of monthly meetings made available. We have been working for almost an entire year to reformat the website. The result is what you see now; a clean, streamlined and totally new website with RSS feeds to the State's website, Google Calendar which can be edited up to the last minute for needed changes of dates and times. The new format has drop-down menus for easy browsing of categories and page links.   Town forms are now organized by Department to make it easier to find specific applications. Something new - Town Bids, for those projects that are seeking RFPs. We hope that you will browse our new website and that you will send us some feed back on how it works for you.

On another note, after what "seems" years, the Barrington Bridge and the Warren Bridge are nearing completion and are ready for commuters.
