2024 Election Information

Presidential Preference Primary

Primary Election - Tuesday, April 2, 2024

  • Sunday, March 3 - Last day to register to vote in the Primary Election and Deadline to disaffiliate from a political party (Public Safety Building, Police Dispatch, 100 Federal Road, 8:30 AM to 4:00 PM).
  • Tuesday, March 12 - Deadline to request a mail ballot, by 4:00 PM (Town Hall, Town Clerk’s office).
  • Tuesday, March 12 - Barrington Board of Canvassers will meet at 4:00 PM to canvass the final voter list for the Primary Election (Town Hall).
  • Wednesday, March 13 through Monday, April 1 - Early voting at Barrington Town Hall (Council Chamber, 2nd floor)during regular business hours; early voting ends at 4:00 PM on Monday, April 1 (PLEASE NOTE: Town Hall is CLOSED on Friday, March 29 - Good Friday). Usual Business Hours:
    • Monday, 8:30 AM – 7:00 PM
    • Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, 8:30 AM – 4:30 PM
    • Friday, 8:30 AM – noon
  • Tuesday, April 2 – PRESIDENTIAL PREFERENCE PRIMARY, polls open 7:00 AM to 8:00 PM. Town Clerk’s Office is closed to all business other than Board of Canvassers 

IMPORTANT INFORMATION – POLLING LOCATIONS WILL BE COMBINED FOR THE PRESIDENTIAL PREFERENCE PRIMARY ON TUESDAY, APRIL 2, 2024 

  • Barrington High School (BHS) - Polling location for Precincts 101 & 106 - If you usually vote at BHS or Town Hall, your polling place will be Barrington High School.
  • Barrington Middle School (BMS) - Polling location for Precincts 102 & 103 - If you usually vote at BMS or Nayatt School, your polling place will be Barrington Middle School.
  • Hampden Meadows School (HMS) - Polling location for Precincts 104 & 105 - If you usually vote at HMS or Sowams School, your polling place will be Hampden Meadows School.

PLEASE NOTE: Nayatt School, Sowams School, and the Town Hall will NOT be used as polling places for the April 2, 2024 Election.
