The website features an entirely new appearance as well as a streamlined navigation system designed to improve user experience, making it easier to access information on everything from dog licenses, to recycling and trash pickup schedules, to meeting calendars.
Users will find new features, including a “How Do I” section, expanded online services and forms, event and meeting calendars, and more. Development of the new website took several months to complete. The Town began working with the vendor CivicPlus on the new website in November 2021.
“We are excited to launch the new site, which was made possible due to the many hours invested in the project by Town’s website team over the past several months,” Town Manager Philip Hervey said. “First of all, the website looks great. More importantly, the additional features and much-improved navigation will provide a significantly better user experience and enable the Town to better meet the needs of the community.”
The new website is a component of the Town’s goals to improve communication and community engagement by making the website easier to use with more information in a central location, allowing for easier access to information and sharing updates.
“This new website represents a giant step forward in our decade-long effort to improve communications with the people of Barrington,” Town Council President Mike Carroll said. “When people search for information, it is almost always already on our website, but our old website could be difficult to navigate. This improved website will make sure the information our residents need is not just available, but more easily accessible.”
