Part Time Police/Fire Dispatcher
We are seeking a Part Time police and Fire Dispatcher for the third shift.
$18. Per hour after training.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities (include but not limited to):
Answer incoming emergency and non-emergency telephone calls (8 business lines, 2 emergency lines and 3 emergency 911 lines.
Dispatch public safety personnel and equipment, via radio to calls for service.
Enter and Receive information/data through department computer and records management system (IMC).
Operate Police Department radios- 4 channels and Fire Department radios –2 channels
Greet and assist civilians with reports, copies, directions, etc.
Operate national computer system (RILETS) for license/registration checks, wants, etc.
Acquire a thorough knowledge of the location and layout of streets, town buildings, and other significant areas of the community.
Keep Shift Supervisors abreast of officer activity and calls for service.
Other Duties (include but not limited to):
Operate and monitor Fire Department alarm system
Monitor security cameras
Desired Minimum Qualifications:
Excellent organizational, interpersonal, oral and written communication skills.
Familiarity with computer programs such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Ability to work accurately and independently.
IMC software or equivalent database software preferred.
Office environment; protected from the elements, but subject to occasional temperature changes and/or noise level fluctuations.
This position requires the ability to work all shifts, including overnight shifts.
This position requires the ability to report to work in all weather conditions.
This position may require overtime in emergency conditions.
Senior Services Bus Driver
Wednesday, Thursday and Friday 9:30 to 1:30
$13. Per hour
Transport town senior citizens from their homes to the Senior Center and back.
Transport Senior Center participants from Center to specifically arranged locations, according to program.
- Assist passengers getting on and off the bus.
- Pick up residents at specified times to bring them to town shopping centers and then home.
- Transport residents, when schedule permits, to doctors’ appointments in Barrington or on the Wampanoag Trail.
Be responsible for proper maintenance of the bus and for optimum performance, safety and appearance inside and out.
- Maintain transportation list.
- Pick up and/or deliver items related to Senior Center, when schedule permits.
Meet with director periodically for discussion and evaluation of procedures.
- Current Driver’s License
- Experience in driving a bus or van
- Successful background check
- Cheerfulness, patience, promptness and sense of responsibility
