Barrington Day of Caring is a one-day service event held yearly in Barrington on Columbus Day in October. that brings neighbors together to create a positive impact on our community.

​This year's event is open to any resident, regardless of income, who is needing help with an outdoor project and would benefit from volunteer support. Examples of Day of Caring projects include repairing a fence, gate, shed, railings, steps, porches, cutting back overgrown bushes or hedges, yard clean-ups.

  • Want to volunteer? Get the registration form HERE. No special skill sets are needed to volunteer. However, your expertise is welcomed. Please inform us if special accommodations are needed. (Those under 14 years of age must be accompanied by and adult/guardian with written consent from guardian).

Please return completed application forms 1) to the Clerk's Office at Town Hall or, 2) via email to dpagetrim@barrington.ri.gov​, no later than noon Friday, September 24th. Applications received after this date may be not be considered for Day of Caring.

2021 DAY OF CARING EVENT SCHEDULE:

Monday, October 11, 2021

11:00 am - 12:00 noon 

  • Meet at Barrington Town Hall 

  • Volunteer check-in 

  • Volunteer Kick off at 12:00 noon 

 

12:00 noon - 4:00 pm

  • Break into teams

  • Board transport to project locations

  • Work will last four (4) hours.

VOLUNTEER ASSIGNMENTS: Volunteer groups are assigned to projects, pre-planned and organized, to assist residents with home projects they need extra help with. Due to pandemic precautions, projects will be limited to outdoor projects and smaller groups of volunteers.
