The Town of Barrington is seeking quality candidates for the following positions:  

Certified (NON-Surf) Lifeguards (premium rates for lifeguards!) 

  • (scheduled during early May) will also be required. 

  • Individual currently enrolled in a certified lifeguard training class will also be considered

Day Camp Counselor  

  • Conduct arts & crafts

  • organize sports and games indoors and out with children 6-12 years old.  

  • Must be able to work Monday through Fridays 9:00 AM to 2:30 PM for the month of July.  

  • Experience with Children preferred. 

Public Works General Laborers 

  • Must be 18 years of age or older. 

  • Cut grass, line fields, paint, etc.

Part-Time Tax Clerk

 

Summary:

Under the direction of the Tax Clerk Supervisor, this position is responsible for a variety of fiscal duties for both Finance and the Tax Assessor. The part-time Tax clerk assists the department by serving clients in person and by phone, taking payments, maintaining financial records, making necessary calculations to compute bills and charges, and aiding in finance and assessor tasks.

 

Much of the work involves a significant amount of interaction with customers, in person, over the telephone and written communication. The position works extensively with an internal system which the candidate will be trained. Relevant skills include customer service,

Cash handling, ability to manage monies, attention to detail, reliability and ability to work independently.

 

Essential Duties:

  1. Serve as the initial contact at the window for in person inquiries and transactions.

  2. Answer telephone calls in a professional manner, providing accurate information.

  3. All communication requires professional interactions with clients while relaying information, answering inquiries and providing explanations, remaining professional and respectful at all times. Guide clients through transactions carefully and intentionally, making all aspects as clear as possible. Make the necessary calculations to compute bills and charges.

  4. Perform tasks as assigned by the Tax Clerk Supervisor or Finance Director.

  5. Supervisory: No

Qualifications:

This position requires customer service experience and cash handling experience.

Part-Time Assistant Recreation Director

The Town is seeking a Part-Time Assistant Recreation Director for our Recreation and

Senior Services Department.

Applicants must be highly skilled in Microsoft Office, have exceptional customer service skills, like to have fun and be comfortable working independently.

Flexibility is a must with this position.

Hours are generally Monday through Thursday from 8:30 to 4:30.

Candidates must be willing to work an occasional Saturday, Sunday or evening event such as the Arts Festival in June, Harvest Festival in early October, Tree Lighting Festival in December and the Family Beach Party in August.

Responsibilities include event planning where the individual will assist the Director and other program coordinators in contacting vendors, booking events, and working planned yearly events. Applicants will also be in charge of promotional materials for newsletters and flyers being distributed to the community.

The ideal candidate would have a minimum of two years office experience, an Associate’s Degree and a high level of professionalism.

Must pass a successful background check and administrative test.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $20.00 per hour

  • Microsoft Office: 2 years (Required)

  • 20-29 hours per week.

Typical start time:

  • 9AM

Typical end time:

  • 4PM
