Financial Town Meeting

The Financial Town Meeting will be held Wednesday, May 25 at the Barrington High School Auditorium beginning at 7 p.m. This meeting will be in person only. Please visit the Financial Town Meeting informational page for more details on the agenda, resolutions, and proceedings. 

Tree Inventory Initiative

The survey will help the Town manage its trees by providing important information on the current health of the urban forest — data needed to prioritize future tree planting and maintenance projects. The Tree Inventory page provides more information.

Memorial Day Parade

The 2022 Memorial Day Parade is being organized by the Town with guidance from a Memorial Day Committee appointed by the Town Manager. The Committee consists of local veterans, family members of veterans, and Town and School representatives. The Parade is scheduled for Monday, May 30 from 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m.


Day of Caring

Barrington Day of Caring is a one-day service event held yearly in Barrington on Columbus Day in October. that brings neighbors together to create a positive impact on our community.

Down Payment Assistance Program


The Town of Barrington is pleased to offer a Down Payment Assistance Program for Barrington residents who are income eligible, and are hoping to buy their first home here in Town.

Polystyrene Ban

Town Ordinance 2019-05 requires the use of non-polystyrene food packaging products that are reusable, recyclable and compostable. The Poly Ban page provides more information about the ban.

Community Garden

A community garden and trails are proposed at Town-owned open space properties on Wampanoag Trail - the former "Vitullo Farm" and the Devine-Vargas conservation parcels.

Spencer Trust Program

Get information on the Amey Tucker Spencer Fund, a charitable trust established to benefit Barrington residents in need. The Trust has provided assistance through the Crisis Fund, the Town's Home Repair Program and other programs and agencies. The Trust also has supported the Down Payment Assistance Program.

Fertilizer Ordinance
