Harbor Commission
The Harbor Commission works with the Harbor Master on implementing the Harbor Management Plan, reviewing applications relating to the waters of the town, and hearing appeals of a decision of the Harbor Master.

Housing Board of Trustees
The Housing Board assists the Town with the implementation of the Affordable Housing Plan, incorporated in the Barrington Comprehensive Community Plan.

Juvenile Hearing Board
The Juvenile Hearing Board hears all cases referred by the Chief of Police involving residents who are under the age of 18 who are charged with violating the criminal laws of the State of Rhode Island or the Town of Barrington.

Library Board of Trustees
The Library Board of Trustees oversees the operation, care, maintenance and expenses of the Barrington Public Library and meet on the third Thursday of the month.

Open Space Committee
The Open Space Committee is charged with the implementation of the Town’s Open Space Plan and the open space provisions of the Town’s Comprehensive Plan. The Committee shall make recommendations for future acquisitions of open space parcels and recommend guidelines and priorities for the use, improvement and management of open space throughout town, including environmentally sensitive conservation areas, farmland, trails and passive recreation areas within parks.

Planning Board
The Planning Board handles Development Plan Review applications for businesses, subdivision applications, and Comprehensive Permits.

Resilience and Energy Committee
The Resilience and Energy Committee advises the Town Council on short- and long-term strategies to promote energy efficiency, create savings and reduce the environmental impact of Town energy usage through conservation and the use of sustainable energy resources, and provide education outreach and assistance to the citizens of Barrington in attaining these objectives.

Senior Services Advisory Board
The Senior Services Advisory Board is charged with supporting and advising regarding the center's programs, policies, and goals. The Board also advocates for senior issues in Barrington.

Technical Review Committee (TRC)
The Technical Review Committee (TRC) is tasked with the responsibility of conducting technical reviews of Planning Board applications, approving sign applications, and providing guidance to an applicant with regard to procedure, technical requirements, and overall project design.

Zoning Board of Review/Appeals
The Zoning Board of Review/Appeals is responsible for reviewing applications requesting relief from dimensional requirements, special-use permits, relief from merger requirements, and appeals from the decisions of the Building Official and Planning Board.
